Mavis/Taylor Trails
The Bayfield River valley provides one of the most colourful fall vistas as the trees progress through their annual colour change. The Varna Trail system offers two relatively easy walks through the beautiful woodland adjacent to the river.
The Taylor Trail is a one-kilometre, fully accessible loop of hard compact surface and flat terrain, making it the perfect outing for joggers, families with strollers and people with mobility issues. The varied setting of forest and meadow keeps it interesting.
Combine it with the Mavis Trail if you are looking for something longer and slightly more challenging.
The Mavis Trail is a four-season, two-and-a-half-kilometre loop to the Bayfield River and back with more challenging terrain. The trail starts in a pine meadow and a 65-foot bridge carries you to a path through a heavily wooded area, eventually arriving at a lookout point above the Bayfield River. Autumn colours highlight this trail to its best advantage. Stanley Complex, Mill Road, Varna
