Pam’s Country Quilting 

What could be better than enjoying a colourful autumn drive, with all the trees in their splendour, only to arrive at a place bursting with even more colour? If sewing, quilting and other needle arts are your thing, you should plan a trip to Pam’s Country Quilting.

 

Nestled in a lovely garden created by Pam and her husband Alvin, the shop is to the side of their home at 84849 Ethel Line, just off the Newry Line. There is plenty of parking and lots to see both inside and outside the shop.

Pam got her start with long-arm quilting and eventually added a wide variety of supplies as well. The long arm quilting machine is the centre of the shop and Pam is often busy with commissions, but happy to explain how it all works.  If you have projects to be quilted, she is ready to consult with you on the final design and has a good selection of backing fabrics.

For a small shop, there is a lot going on. With almost 1,000 bolts of fabric, you are sure to find something to grab your eye. There are cottons, homespuns, batiks, flannels and fleece. If you can’t resist a jelly roll, charm pack or grabbing a handful of fat quarters, you will find lots of those too. Everywhere you look there are samples made up and kits to grab if you don’t want to agonise over the colour choices. Notions and accessories are available too, including Valdani threads and wool applique supplies.
