Metamorphic Rock Shoppe & Gallery

Metamorphosis is a profound change in form from one stage in life to the next, which also aptly describes the recent transition for Metamorphic Rock Shoppe & Gallery in downtown Bayfield and its new ownership.

Brianna Berthelot, a 33 year old, 5th-generation Bayfieldian, and her partner Bryan, took on ownership of Metamorphic Rock, located at 22 Main Street, at the beginning of this February and couldn’t be more excited for their new chapter after relocating back to Ontario from Alberta. Brianna had worked with the prior owner to feature her bespoke hand-wrapped wire jewelry in the shop under her business Born to be Wired, and when the opportunity arose to take the reins of Metamorphic Rock, she felt inspired to take the plunge, with the encouragement and support of her partner. Not a stranger to beachside retail, Brianna had previously worked at another beloved Bayfield shop, Sea Jewels.

Metamorphic Rock Shoppe & Gallery offers a large and mesmerizing array of rocks, gems, crystals and assorted natural wonders, for every child-with-rocks-in-their-pocket and child-with-rocks-in-their-pocket at heart. These organic treasures can provide a soothing tactile experience, and they can represent any number of ideas such as love, luck or memory. Many people, from geologists to psychics, believe in the benefits of appreciating these earthly minerals. Admire the forces of nature’s finest creations, crafted by fate for a millenia, to be loved by you.

Brianna also plans to continue offering custom jewelry, as well as working on consignment with local artists and artisans to feature and sell their works. As she settles in, she hopes to expand the shop’s offerings, and explore opportunities for community engagement, as she loves the feeling of community spirit in Bayfield. She is planning on announcing a Grand Re-Opening celebration soon. Be sure to stop in and welcome (back) Brianna and Bryan!
