Huron County Museum
While the Huron County Museum has once again opened its doors for you to visit its collection, this comes after the staff worked to bring various artifacts and exhibits to life virtually while it was closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The virtual museum is still open 24 hours a day at huroncountymuseum.ca/virtual-services. There you can access a database of over 3,000 artifacts and archival material, a collection of historic photographs, videos, walking tours and virtual exhibits.
The most popular section is the digitized newspapers project where you can access more than a century’s worth of historic news. Currently they have more than 350,000 newspaper pages available from 1848 to 2015, with more being added all the time.
The museum’s regular, permanent exhibits are now open to visitors by appointment during regular hours. Access without an appointment may be restricted due to capacity restrictions for physical distancing.
