Goderich Audio Walking Tours
Huron Arts & Heritage Network, a not-for-profit group that works to promote culture and heritage in the county, has produced a series of audio walking tours.
There are six tours to choose from in Goderich, each exploring history in a different area of the town.
“The Goderich Harbour Tour” explores the long association with the river, reaching back to the days of the Attawandaron to today.
A walk down “West Street - Goderich” provides an interesting narrative for the places you’ll see, including the town hall, Lions Harbour Park and the lighthouse.
Explore the cultural hub located on “South Street and East Street - Goderich” with the history of the beautiful buildings housing The Livery Theatre, Bedford Hotel and the East Street Station, home of Fauxpop Media.
“North Street - Goderich” tour features the history of St. George’s Anglican Church, the Huron County Museum, St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the infamous Huron Historic Gaol.
You will be fascinated by the history of downtown Goderich, starting with “Courthouse Square”.
And the final leg of your journey is an episode on two of the most iconic places in the county, “Menesetung Bridge and Tiger Dunlop’s Tomb”.
