Brussels Farmers Market
The Brussels Farmers Market is back in 2025! Market organizer Amanda Ripper is excited to implement new ideas and for the potential for growth for this summer’s markets. This year, each market day will have a unique theme so you’re sure to have a new experience at each visit.
This year, in addition to the fresh produce and local products, the market will offer a kids tent for children’s activities (as if veggie selection isn’t fun!), and live music including local student bands. Amanda is also hoping to support the community, by having one theme day be Young Entrepreneur’s Day and encouraging aspiring young businesses, makers or creators. She’s also planning to make a donation to the food bank on the first Friday of the month, in the form of “Stone Soup” - from a European folk story in which hungry strangers convince the people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal - where she’s asking community members to donate a non-perishable food item to the cause.
This year’s markets will be every other Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., starting June 6 and running until August 29. The markets will be located at 589 Turnberry St., (main street) Brussels, across from the post office. For more information or to contact about vending or volunteer opportunities, check out the Brussels Farmers Market on Facebook.

Why You Should Make Farmers Markets Your New Personality
* It Sounds Healthy. Sure, there’s tons of fresh produce. But there’s also lots of little treats.
* You Can Go When Sleepy. Small town farmers markets allow you to saunter unhurried, the anti-Costco experience.
* Wow! You Smell Good. All those local handmade bath and body products have got you smelling great! Maybe not better, maybe you always smelled great. It just smells different, that’s all. Take the compliment.
*Absolute Good Guy Behaviour. No big deal, just out here casually supporting local, ethically produced goods and services, like the Humble Legend you are.
*Did I Mention The Treats? So many treats.
