Bayfield Walking Tours
Huron Arts & Heritage Network, a not-for-profit group that works to promote culture and heritage in the county, has produced a series of audio walking tours.
As one of the oldest communities in the area, Bayfield has a rich history and many stories to tell. This series explores three areas with downloadable audio walking tours.
The first, titled “Pioneer Park and Bayfield Harbour” explores the shipwrecks, sailors and history of Admiral Bayfield, namesake of the village and surveyor of the Great Lakes .
Next, you can revel in the stories of lovers, cow patties and war memorials in Bayfield’s town square as you stroll through “Clan Gregor Square”.
And don’t miss “Bayfield Main Street”, featuring a globetrotting nurse, a daring rescue and a murder as history comes to life on main street.
